North Siders celebrate after lifting the David MacMahon Cup
The North Siders know the drill. They know how to win even when they only have a few chances. While the Wild Geese could not quite rise to the occasion in the manner of their magnificent fans, they had a good go and did not let anyone down.
David MacMahon took his time emerging from the dressing room after the game: "We've all just been having a nice dance party. This is the perfect end of season feeling. I am delighted to have won this trophy........

John O'Keeffe, an aerially dominant, almost Kluivert-esque centre-forward secured the win yesterday. He gave a striker's master class in finishing: Two chances. Two goals.
However, the three wins in a row are mostly due to a steely defence, who seemed impenetrable in the second half. The teams overall defensive resilience ensured the Geese won a game they would probably have lost earlier in the summer.
Not that it was a cakewalk........

Pastis defense try to clear ball

"All victories like this do for a manager is give you a couple of days of leeway," he insisted. This was a tactical victory for him despite his assertions to the contrary.
A five-minute burst from the Geese brought the opening half to life. Dadie Serge was forced to go-off temporarily and his replacement John O'Keeffe made a dramatic impact.........
