Wejchert 2 : 2 Wild Geese
Cool finish from Gorman but Geese lose two points
Emmet Gorman scored another of his typical ice-cool finishes but the Geese were unable to hold onto a commanding two-nil lead. Gorman opened the scoring after only ten minutes, when he took the ball on the right wing and from well outside teh oenalty area drove it low and hard past the Wejchert keeper's right. It was a typically deceptive strike from Gorman, full of accuracy rather than power.
Brian Clarke then added to the Geese tally, with a blaster which rattled the upright, the net, and ever other part of the goals. The Geese were in cruise control, and seemed certain to win.
But Wejchert then scored against the run of play and then began to assert themselves in midfield. They closed off easy possession to Clarke, and the Geese struggled to stop the Wejchert movement forward. In a counter attacking move Wejchert added another goal, and after that took a more conservative approach to the game. The Geese worked hard but nothing came from their play.
