DPL 2 Wild Geese 2

Two goals from debutants Martin Lynam and Dave O'Donoghue should have been enough for the Geese to claim victory last night over DPL. But DPL managed to steal two goals at the end.

Cracking start for the Geese, when Lynam sent a thunderbolt in from outside the penalty area. Soon afterwards oit was two. Team play, starting from the kickout, went all the way up the field and was converted by O'Donoghue.

The Geese dominated most of the game and had several shots on goals. Gorman hit the upright of the goals on two occasions. And then they conceded two late goals.

"We fought hard throughout the game" said midfielder Lenny McCarthy "but we made some silly errors and were punished."
