Some day Dave McMahon will get the credit he deserves. Perhaps it will be when he is gone from the North Siders. He controlled swirl of the North Siders' attacking on Thursday night and McMahon's primary role in assembling both the personnel involved and instilling in them a philosophy that embraces risk and beauty with the overlooked genius of common-sense defending.
The Geese never recovered from three early goals. Paul Kavanagh could do nothing to stop their penetrating play. "We can say that this night was our night," said a satisfied McMahon.
There was no lack of effort from the Geese........

Not easy to beat this Man
St. Annes Park, Dublin – The Wild Geese's wait for a win goes on after the North Siders second half goal, meaning that it is now fourteen matches since the Geese last won a game. It certainly wasn't for trying though as the Geese pressed relentlessly in the second half with several clearances from the North Siders goal mouth
The North Siders were impressively marshaled by a well-organized defence and in the end they held out in the face of a determined Geese effort. Dadie Serge, Oliver Tormey and Joe Barigga all almost restored hope......

Coach McCarthy believes in his Team
BELFIELD, Ireland – A team that prepares together wins together. This is the essence of the Geese football philosophy.
The Geese havent won a competitive match since February, they’ve come under criticism for their performance, particularly for conceding five goals in the last game. But you’d never know there was any pressure on them by watching their Tuesday afternoon training session. The Geese prepared for their game against the Northsiders with a loose, laughter-filled training session at UCD.
The session opens with a big game of keepaway...........

Playmaker McElhinney celebrates Victory
On the thirteenth attempt, the Wild Geese experienced the raptures of victory. After months of despair, of large defeats and near misses, of dodgy penalties and almost cracked shins, the Geese held proud and their resiliance bore fruit and indeed some wonderful football. Kevin McElhinney was the star, scoring two and creating several others, as he led his two brother's James and Gary, and the rest......
